# Sharing

Only you, named people, your organization, or anyone with the link.

Page: https://bisque.cloud/docs/artifacts/sharing

Who can open an Artifact is one of four choices, and the default is only you. Say the choice in the request, or change it later from the title menu.

## The four choices

| Who can open it | What it means |
| -------------------- | ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
| Only you | The default for every new Artifact. The link works for you alone. |
| Invited people | Named people, each as a **viewer** or an **editor**. A viewer opens it and comments. An editor can also publish new content to it. |
| Organization | Every member of your bisque.team organization. Available on an Artifact the organization owns. |
| Anyone with the link | Open to anyone who has the link, signed in or not. Comments are not available on these, so going public deletes every comment thread, and the agent is refused until told to delete them. |

A person you name is matched to their Bisque account by email. If they have no account yet, the agent tells you by name, and you can ask again once they have one.

Making an Artifact open to anyone with the link is the one change that removes something: every comment thread on it is deleted for everyone. The agent refuses the change on an Artifact that has threads until you say, explicitly, to delete them too.

## Listing

Separately from who can open it, an Artifact is link-only unless you ask for it to be listed. A listed Artifact that is open to anyone with the link also gets a public presentation from **Present this**, rather than one only its link reaches.

<!-- unverified: where a listed Artifact appears. The agent surface describes listing as "the org library, public discovery", and the owner's own library lists only owned and shared Artifacts; no code read for this page renders a channel or company listing of listed Artifacts. -->

## What to say

> Share the migration plan with ana@acme.com as an editor.

> Share the Q3 report with the company.

> Make the sign-up sheet public.

> Take dan@acme.com off the report.

> Only I should be able to open this now.

Naming the people, the company, or "anyone with the link" in the first request saves a round trip:

> Write up the migration plan as an Artifact and share it with the platform team as viewers.

## From the title menu

On an Artifact you own, **Share** in the title menu shows the same choices: the people with access and their roles, general access (Only you, Invited people, Organization, Anyone with the link), and **Copy link**. Every change saves as you make it. Adding a person while access is Only you switches it to Invited people, since a grant does nothing otherwise.

An organization can disable external sharing for the Artifacts it owns. When it has, Anyone with the link is unavailable and the dialog says why.

## What people see

Someone who opens an Artifact they cannot access sees a not-found page, the same as a link that never existed. The one exception is an Artifact for sale, which shows its title, poster, and price to anyone with the link; see [Selling](/docs/artifacts/selling).

A link to an Artifact shared with named people or an organization requires signing in, because the page has to know who is asking.
