Selling

Price an Artifact from $3.99; buyers pay once and you keep 90%.

An Artifact of yours that is open to anyone with the link can carry a price from $3.99 to $999. Anyone with the link sees what it is, and buying opens it.

Set up payouts first

Sales pay out to your bank through Stripe, so before you can set a price Stripe has to be able to pay you. On your account page, under Get paid, choose Set up payouts and complete the Stripe onboarding. If you stop partway, the button reads Finish setup and Stripe resumes where you left off. Once payouts are enabled the button becomes Open Stripe dashboard, where your balance, payouts, and tax forms live.

If you open Sell on an Artifact before this is done, it offers Set up payouts and takes you there, with a link back to the Artifact once Stripe can pay you.

Set a price

Open Sell from the Artifact's title menu, next to Share. Enter a price between $3.99 and $999.00 and choose Start selling. The dialog shows what you keep of every $3.99.

A price lives on an Artifact that is open to anyone with the link, so setting one on a narrower Artifact switches general access to Anyone with the link in the same save. It stays unlisted: only people you send the link to find it. Comments are not available on an Artifact open to anyone with the link, so if the Artifact has comment threads you are asked to confirm deleting them before the sale starts.

From the same dialog you can later choose Change price or Make free. Changing general access in Share also ends the sale. Company-owned Artifacts cannot be priced; only an Artifact you own yourself takes a price.

What buyers see

Anyone with the link sees a locked page: the poster, the title, the description if there is one, your handle, and the price. One action, Buy for $X. A buyer who is signed out is asked to sign in first, because a purchase belongs to an account, and goes straight on to checkout after. When the payment lands, the Artifact opens in place.

A purchase is one payment, and the Artifact stays in the buyer's account to open any time, on every device. It is a permanent license to view: a buyer keeps access if you later make the Artifact free, narrow who can open it, or delete it. A buyer opens the version that was published when they bought it and every version published since, and never a draft. Buyers read the page the way a public reader does, with no comments.

People you named in Share as viewers or editors open a priced Artifact without buying it.

What you receive

Bisque keeps a 10% platform fee plus the card processing cost, 2.9% plus 30 cents, and the rest is yours. At $3.99 that is 40 cents for the platform and 42 cents for the card, so you receive $3.17. At higher prices the fixed 30 cents matters less.

Refunds

When a sale is refunded, the buyer loses access, and the page tells them so if they come back to it. Your share of that sale comes back in proportion to the amount refunded; a full refund takes back the whole share. If a buyer disputes a charge, what you still hold from that sale is taken back while the dispute is open, and transferred to you again if the dispute is won.
